Alright, so here's a series of posts I'm going to be doing that detail some systems I've put in place or some things that I see get asked about a lot.
- Bounty
- HEY GUYS, I MADE US AN ACTUAL BOUNTY SYSTEM.
- Basically, the main facet for gaining bounty is, logically, through missions. (At the time of posting this, I haven't done what I'm about to say yet, so I'll reward properly later). When a mission is accepted, I (or whomever approves it) I will designate a price for the mission as well as a bounty amount. When the mission is accomplished, I will reward both to all those who participated in the mission (unless it is a special case like a "mission combat thread" or something, which is unlikely). This does mean that gaining bounty from posting is gone.
- One's bounty will be counted a vastly different way than you might imagine. Instead of all the zeros cutting across the screen and looking exceptionally ugly, or making everything small numbers like "3 Million", everything will be counted in "Thousands. Bounty is gonna be counted as, for example, 30 Million bounty is 30,000 Thousand (Displayed as 30,000 T.). When multiplied out, they are 100% equal.
- Bounty claims for normal threads will be possible. I'll have a claim page up in not too terribly long, probably under missions just to keep the boards I handle the most nice and together. On that page, all one must do is post a link to the normal thread they wish for me to read over and see if they are, in fact, deserving of bounty. Does this mean to go burn Loguetown down? NO. In fact, for things such as that, one will only see punishment for their ultimately stupid action. Be logical when deciding for yourself if you do deserve bounty for a thread.
- Bounty hunters are... Different. Basically, claiming a bounty is done in the form of a challenge. Bounty Hunter A Challenges Pirate B to a fight over his bounty. Pirate B accepts. Myself or Night (or any staff really) are informed. The combat thread can then be bet on and it may begin. Simple as that.
- Now, you might be wondering, why 2 stats? Why do I need both Bounty and Fame? Well, the answer is rather simple. Bounty is how much your head is worth at one time and can be claimed by bounty hunters. Fame is your accumulated bounty, mostly to show notoriety and such.
I am working at getting all of this stuff put in right now, so yeah. Chill out and watch the master work.
