Attire: Ke'tar wears practically no clothing. He wears no shirt, or shoes. About his waist he has a large white cloth tied about with a large knot in the front. It acts as a sort of skirt that reaches to his knees, and allows for the free movement of his tail. Other than that, the only thing he wears is a long red cape that is a bit longer than needed, and has a golden clasp. Ke'tar also has a couple accessories such as golden anklets on either ankle, and an earring in his left ear fin.
Abnormalities: Being a fishman, there is quite a lot about him that is abnormal. First in foremost is his size. The next most obvious abnormality is his green skin. The only place the coloration differs is on the edges of the fins that adorn his body, which are reddish. These fins are located on both his forearms, and his head. On his head, in place of his ears, he has fins. He also has a long fin that runs from the top of his head to the small of his back. Ke'tar also has fins on either side of his head that start from behind his 'ears' and drape down his shoulders to just below his breast. The only abnormality on his face is his muzzle like mouth filled with razor sharp teeth.
The only other abnormalities are his clawed hands and feet, and tail.
Overall, one might say that he looks like humanoid dragon, or alligator; though he's an eel fishman. BACKGROUND Ke'tar's early history is a mystery to him. Occasionally, he remembers being on a ship, or the noises one might hear while on a ship. What he doesn't remember is that he was born on a ship with a crew of no name fishmen marauders. One memory of his earliest ages, though, sheds some unwanted light on some aspects of his past. It's a hectic memory of fire and swimming as fast as his young self could. The truth of it is simply that the crew got what was coming to them, and they were attacked. Ke'tar managed to swim with all of the might until he passed out.
When he woke up, there was nothing but water to keep him company. It was two days of struggling before he eventually managed to wash upon the shore of an island. He was battered, exhausted, starved, and practically dead, but luck decided to visit him. He was found by a kindly old man whom took him in, and raised him like his own. While the old man was kindly, his kindness wasn't exactly textbook. He was more than willing to take the young fishman in, and feed him, but he was harsh on the boy. He was strict, and kept Ke'tar on his toes by forcing him to run, and do other physical labor such as chop down trees.
By trade, the old man was a carpenter who specialized in making totems and figures, though he could make a lovely table. It was through this that Ke'tar gained his own love for wood crafts, though making simple figurines was never on his agenda. He loved to build boxes, and boats, and all other sorts of doodads. The more complex, or large the item, the more fun he had with it.
Life from this point on was relatively good, for a time. He lived with the old man, worked for him, and helped complete orders. The old man lived a few miles outside of a town, and he built things for the villagers, occasionally going to fix the buildings. Ke'tar didn't ever go into town; the old man wouldn't let him. Instead, he stayed as far away as possible.
Of course, children are curious creatures. If they're told not to go somewhere, or do something for long enough, they'll eventually go and do exactly what they're told not to do. Ke'tar was sixteen at the time, and he at least had the sense to go at night, the first time. He slinked around town, peeking in windows, generally being amazed by it all. He managed to go without being detected. The second night, went well, too. It was the third night that caused problems. He was seen by a drunk, who called his buddies, and they all screamed monster. Ke'tar managed to run away with little problems, but when the old man found out, he got a swift beating.
The beating, of course, caused the boy to run away from home. The only way he knew to run was into town. His naive mind thought that the fear from the night before was simply because it was dark, and that in day light things would be better. He was wrong. Instead of being welcomed in the same way that he had with the old man, he was greeted by a group of ten men with swords and guns; all screaming monster. Terrified, the young fishman ran from the group, but they utilized the terrain and managed to corner him. In the typical fashion of stories like this, the old man pushed through at the last second, and managed to protect him; at the cost of his life.
Utilizing a break in the formation due to surprise, Ke'tar ran. Even if he didn't remember it, it was a repeat of his earlier years. Just like when the boat was burning, he fled. He kept running, into the forest this time, and didn't stop until he passed out. When he awoke, he returned to the old man's shack and gathered a meager amount of things, and tools, and then returned the forest. Once back inside the safety of the trees, he set to work, and eventually patched together a boat.
After that, he escaped from the island and hardened himself. He learned that the world was harsh, and adapted to that. Ke'tar worked odd jobs here and there where he could get them. He honed his skills, and even now, he travels looking for a place to belong; doing what he needs to do to live. ADDITIONAL INFOPERSONAL DRIVE: The wish to masterful ships.
