Thick and durable black meshes of cloth and leather adorn his frame from head to toe; with a simple black shirt and heavy duster cloak over his top half, and functional army-style combat trousers cover his bottom. His boots are durable steel-plated combat boots. The only additional embellishment is a pair of black plated gloves. To further the emphasis on defense Elias harbors, every piece of apparel he wears is woven with non-magnetic metallic fibers to dramatically improve the level of protection even a simple shirt could provide. This of course makes them much heavier, but Elias is entirely unaffected by this thanks to his extreme level of level of conditioning. BACKGROUND Elias makes no excuses for his past, not does he try to exaggerate it for sympathy or the like. Born the second son in a nowhere fishing village barely noticeable on any map, Elias' existence was slow and simple. In truth, there were many hardships even during his formative years. Everyone was expected to pull their weight and as soon as he was able, Elias was fishing during storms and chopping down trees to help build new ships, or even repair the damaged ones. Piracy was also commonplace. Unfortunately, his experience of Pirates, particularly Fishmen, were the lowest and most depraved scum ever to sully the four blues. They raided, kidnapped and killed without mercy or remorse. Before the age of ten Elias was kidnapped and nearly killed twice. If it hadn't been for passing Marines, his short life would have been all the more so. However, the last was the worst; a village cannot be comprised of only one person. It was a particularly cold night when the Pirates came, despite the clouds. Before the alarm was even raised three or four families were slain and houses were razed. They didn't want supplies this time, they wanted the island for themselves. Elias' father roused the family and ordered they flee for the boats and sail to the nearest town they traded with before there could be any tear-filled goodbye. The remaining family did so. His little brother was shot dead as soon as they ran outside. No one noticed until they got to the boats. When they did his mother pushed the boat out and cried something about having to go back. Elias was left with his older sister, Alice. They huddled together in the cold and the rain; by this point the clouds rumbled and rain cascaded from the black above. The wind carried screams and the smell of fire and blood. For a while they just drifted. They hadn't seen Pirates notice the boat and signal to attack. The cannonball exploded and destroyed the ship before they could discern the thunder from the machine. Elias awoke several days later on an island which turned out to be the nearest Marine base. The same base that had saved them in the past. He was alone and clung to debris from the boat. Despite his best efforts there was no sign of his sister. Elias didn't do very much for a long time. Eventually Elias was invited to join the Marines at the age of 14 and fight against the Piracy that was overtaking the world. If he had any hope of making a difference Elias would need to steel himself - become strong. There were many officers whom he served that taught him something new about the world, and the people it carried; Exotic lands filled with danger and mystery. How to survive in the harshest conditions. Training regimes and methods that would transform his body into a weapon. He needed to learn, and he took to it with the passion of a man crazed. The first half of his life was filled with love, suffering some hardship. The second was bone breaking training and war. Since that event Elias adopted the pseudonym Epoch; declaring his desire to bring about a new age to the world. This passion and stalwart dedication didn't go unnoticed either. Elias knew as much as he could do with his own hands, it would be nothing compared to the power and authority the Fleet Admiral and subordinate Admirals wielded. CHURCH ABILITIES AND INVENTORY INVENTORY Weapons GREATSWORD | From tip to handle the weapon measures six feet long, with a single-edged, enormous blade one foot wide. It sports a bolted steel base with a winged motif, tinted gold, and the black blade is lightly engraved. There are two holes on the blade near the hilt and the slots are equipped with a latch cover. Non-weapons A black, portable Den Den Mushi. ABILITIES BUSOSHOKU HAKI | Busoshoku Haki allows the user to create a force similar to an invisible armor around themselves. Similar to Tekkai, this allows the user to defend against attacks that would otherwise cause them harm. Only significant physical force can overcome this defense. Naturally this "invisible armor" can be used as a weapon to strike others with. It can be used to augment the user's own attacks, projected ahead of the user as pure brute force, or imbued in weapons to increase their effectiveness.
