The said uniforms consists of a sturdy dark-grey material for the pants and coat as well as a white, short-sleeved T-shirt. On the collar of the uniform there is a detachable golden insignia on the fabric, indicating Hector's rank within the Night Hunter order. When not representing the order, he Hector prefers simple loose jeans and shirts as well as sneakers, preferring some of the freedom of movement and comfort of denim over other material. Regardless of his uniform, Hector can always be found wearing or carrying a pair of black-rimmed glasses. As Hector has no vision issues, there is clearly only a sentimental value to them. Abnormalities: Hector possesses a number of deep scars on his body from numerous encounters and battles, ranging from deep cut scars and burn scars on his torso to simpler and lighter scars on his extremities. BACKGROUND Hector C. Vinland is the eldest son of Beatrice C. Vinland and Jacob C. Vinland, and is the current "inheritor" of the families assets. Being born into the legendary Vinland" family, the young Hector Vinland grew up in a rather unique enviorment. Hector grew up like many well-to-do and rich children, which usually would be a recipe for a spoiled rotten and quite selfish individual. This, however, was not what happened to Hector. During his childhood, Hector strove to become strong, like his father Jacob. His childhood dream? to become a member of the world government military like his father and "be a hero", or some such cliche. By the age of 8 Hector was already getting himself into wild adventures with his friends and his childhood friend/arranged marriage partner, Kaitlyn. Years passed, and as Hector grew so did his love for Kaitlyn. Hector saw the blessings life had to offer and seemingly none of the downsides. Yet Life was about to prove it could be as cruel as it was kind. For on his 19th birthday, the day before Hector was to wed the love of his life, the woman who he cared so much for was murdered by an unknown man who Hector could only identify as "the man in white armor". Kaitlyn's death shook the young Vinland heir to his very core, and quietly made him realize just how lucky he had been. He also realized how much of a responsibility he had to ensure others did not meet a similarly cruel fate such as his. A month after Kaitlyn's death Hector then left the Vinland's massive estate Against the wishes of his Mother and father who tried to console his loss. Hector left his life of luxury behind, seeking out the dangerous yet profitable life of a bounty hunter as a way to try and find the sense of meaning that had been torn away from him. The regal, optimistic and fun life he once had at home held little comfort for him. With this in mind, Hector set out into the world hoping to bring that comfort to others despite no longer possessing it himself. Eventually, at the age of 20 Hector joined the Night Hunter order for reasons unknown, and quickly distinguished himself as one of the most promising night hunters the order had ever seen. Since joining the order, Hector has tried to adhere to those principles of compassion that he had started his journey on, despite pressure from both sides of opposing factions within the night hunter order. Yet he finds himself plagued with guilt at his own failings, animosity toward his love's killer and a frustration at the division that he sees in the world around him. This leaves part of Hector seeking justice for all, and another part seeking vengeance and redemption for himself... Where these conflicting feelings will lead him remain to be seen. ADDITIONAL INFO PERSONAL DRIVE: Hector is motivated mostly by two things: A feeling that he is making the world a better place through his actions as a night hunter and the desire for justice (or vengence) against the mysterious man that wronged him. Beyond that, his life is a journey through his encounters with others. The journey may be more important then the destination, however, and perhaps the people he encounters will change his motivations, even if only temporarily. REPRESENTED BY THE COLOR: Grey. Grey is a representation of the somewhat optimistic beliefs that Hector holds about society and the world in general. He believes that there is much good in the world, but unfortunately as wonderful as life is, it is far from flawless. It also represents Hector's desire to do the sometimes dark and dirty work that comes with being a bounty hunter in order to better the lives of others. To that end, if his life was to be represented by colors, he would hope to have his own grey shift darker and darker so that others would become lighter and lighter. This finely crafted weapon is made of a special mixture of Silver and enchanced steel, and as a result boasts a higher degree of Durability and Balance despite weighing roughly half the weight of a regular sword of the same size. Due to its composition, the materials of the blade also seem to deal additional damage when cutting "supernatural" beings that are vulnerable to sliver. See signature for the appearance of the blade. Combat Knives: Hector's combat knives, he usually carries roughly six holstered knives inside his coat and one strapped in a holster over his chest (around the heart area). Hector seems to be able to throw an endless supply of knives without emptying his holsters, leading some to believe that he simply spawns them out of thin air like "magic". Hector is capable of throwing dozens of knives at a time with his skill and ability. Non-weapons A small music box A pair of black-rimmed glasses ABILITIES Fuunraiken (Lightning Seal): Hector, since his childhood, has had a unique and powerful ability: the ability to generate and summon powerful electricity both from his body's own natural electrical generating ability and by creating small disruptions in the air. At his current degree of training, Hector is able to summon/conjure weak (stunning) to medium (damaging) strength lightning blasts from his body and in the air around him. Hector can also imbue his body with a low-level electrical current, allowing him to try and stun enemies upon hitting them with unarmed attacks or metallic objects. In the future, as his ability develops, more techniques and abilities may become available to him. Hand-to-Hand conditioning: Hand-to-hand. The essence of all combat. Due to rigorous conditioning and training Hector volunteered to as a child under his marine father, Hector has a strong understanding of Hand-to-hand combat. He specializes in throws, and due to his abilities can easily take on several ordinary armed men at once in close range. Even unarmed and against highly trained hand-to-hand combatants, Hector can still hold his own due to this training. Night Hunter: From the blackest skies to the darkest depths, no evil shall escape the wrath of a Night Hunter. Hector has been trained in the mysterious art of the "Night Hunter": a special type of bounty hunter who specializes in combat against the occult and supernatural. As a result of his Night Hunter training, Hector is capable of amazing and swift airborne feats such as airborne flips, "dashes" and even jumping again in the air as a means of helping him combat the most deadly of bounties. Also, the training has allowed Hector to fight underwater with extreme efficiency and speed to better help him hunt monsters in the ocean or in any body of water. RACIAL FEATURES Vinland Bloodline: May the blood of the Vinlands give you strength. As a result of his heritage to two very powerful individuals, Hector is blessed with incredible physical and mental capacity. His overall human abilities/potential are roughly twice that of the ordinary limit of a human being. The exception to this is Hector's mental abilities and his reflexes/agility, which are heightened to the incredible point where Hector is able to react and move at blurring speeds and (when putting his mind to it) able to make incredible calculations in seconds.
