The attack he had used had utilized Mizugokoro, but in a way she had not expected. It had created a wave of water that had taken out her sharks. Fortunately for her, the wave was also stopped by the sharks. However, he seemed to have used that moment as a distraction and come at her swiftly. Yet not swift enough. If he had grabbed her rather than feinting he would maybe have succeeded, but as such she activated another technique she had developed. Deshio, or high tide, was a technique that manipulated the moisture within the user in order to allow high speed movement even higher than what the user was normally capable of. She simply used it to move so she got behind him and then spun round before trying to kick him at chest height.
This was the Ka Ka Kakato Otoshi ,the fire flower heel drop. If it hit it would do some damage at least, but she wouldn't of been surprised if it missed. Quick reaction were something both of them had, especially underwater. It would be a truly interesting battle and both of them had only just begun.

He'd been close. He'd assumed that, by feinting, she'd be thrown off for the split second he needed to connect with his kick. But she'd anticipated his move and now moved at high speeds, swimming right around behind him. She'd been so fast - as fast, perhaps as fast as a Merfolk even. She'd deftly avoided his attack. But by going behind him, she'd allowed him to anticipate her next attack. And if he could do that, reacting to it was even less of a problem for him. In a quick push he swam forwards, twisting his body around as he dodged her downwards kick. He now faced her again, his arm pulled back. Stopping himself from moving further, he was now ready to go back on the attack. The movements from Ka Ka Kakato Otoshi were big - it would take longer to recover from her own attack than a smaller one. He hoped that it would give him just the opening he needed.
His fist snapped forwards, shooting through the water. Then, as if feeding off of the force of his punch, the water rippled and shook outwards from his punch, creating a shockwave through the water itself that was aimed for Sakana's head and chest. If the attack struck, it would be as if the image of his Jolly Roger would be stamped on her body itself by the powerful shockwave. This of course was the technique Umidaiko. It was his hope that the powerful punching move would knock her back, and in turn leave her open to his next attack. Once he got into the flow of the battle, he liked to unleash a relentless offensive. That was always how he was. His eyes narrowed on her. Would she use that high-speed movement ability again? Would she even have the time to use it? Or would she escape yet again? Of course, he had a plan even for that.

SHe hadn't expected her attack to be 100% successful simply because he was quick. She had hoped that she might catch him off guard enough to score a hit. His counter attack would not be quite as effective as he hoped. Using the brief time it would take to get towards her she changed her attack method from that of the fire flower heel drop to that of the yarinami. This launched a spear shaped burst of water at him. She only just managed to get it off in time so it hit his attack a fraction of a second before it her thus the two attacks would at least negate each other. However, her attack was significantly more powerful than the umidaiko. Her's had enough strength to even pierce a ship. His umidaiko would have to be very powerful to negate her yarinami.
She decided to follow it up with another of her self made techniques. A technique that could be used five times before requiring time to recover. It was known as fukashikon. With a rapid swing of her arms she launched three blades of water each with the cutting power of a sword. As a shark she too was a rather relentless attacker, though not as much as him.
"This takes me back." she said with a grin. She hadn't sparred with him in years and even when they did she'd only been the serious one. He'd outclassed her severely due to having much more training. Even prodigies needed some time to train. Plus he had the muscles to back his style up sufficiently whereas back then she didn't. She still had a couple of tricks up her sleeve which could devastate him and end the battle if she used them correctly.

He was fortunate that, of all the attacks he could have used, he had used Umidaiko. The shockwaves of the water clashed against her Yarinami and, though it hadn't completely negated her attack, it had definitely accomplished two things - it had reduced the power of the attack and it had reduced the speed. The second, of course, was the most important, for it allowed Lao Hu to speed to the left, avoiding the Yarinami. That had been close, he realized, but it seemed she wasn't done yet. Now she was readying another attack against him. It was likely she wanted to use an attack that would be difficult to dodge this close. Rather than wait and find out, he instead began his own attack.
Grabbing the water again with Mizugokoro, he pulled on it and began to shape it. As she created blades of water that shot towards him, he began his counter attack. Both arms keeping hold of the long length of water, he snapped it forwards, unleashing what was essentially a whip of water, smashing through each of the blades one by one. But that wasn't all - because of the length of the whip, the tip was now lashing down towards Sakana's head. This technique, of course, was Kairyuu Hebi. It looked like he was going to have to take advantage of every technique up his sleeve to compete with her abilities.

His mastery of gyojin jujutsu was greater than her own. With little difficulty he had used it to neutralize her attacks and this one in particular looked like it might hit. However, her technique wasn't over just yet. With another swift movement of each arm she sent two blades at the same time at the whip. This did not stop it, but it slowed it down enough for her to move enough for it to catch her on the shoulder rather than the head, and with less impact. It cut into her shoulder slightly, but not enough to stop her. It was time to kick things up a notch. If gyojin jujutsu was the way this was going to go down then so be it. Quickly forming her own mizugokoro she manipulated the water to form two largely condensed balls, one above each shoulder.
This was her Kamehou, or turtle cannon, a technique inspired by a manga she once read about a boy going around catching monsters with special powers. The tag line of it was 'I want to be the very Best'. It was very inspiring and in terms of fishman karate it was what she wanted to be. She had created this technique in homage to it.
With that she began to swim rapidly at him and without so much as a gesture both balls fired a stream of highly pressurised water at him. Very highly pressurised indeed. He was not the only one who could manipulate large amounts of water to devastating effect.

The first blow had been landed in the battle - although she managed to redirect where it would land, he still managed to strike her down upon the shoulder. His expression didn't change, however - of course it wouldn't. A single hit didn't mean anything. Sure, it was a good sign in a fight to be able to land blows, but he wasn't excited by the idea of landing one blow. No, he had to remain focused. If he wasn't careful, she could still easily turn the tables back on him. Fortunately, even after the initial whip attack, he still had a firm hold of his Kairyuu Hebi technique. It wasn't a technique designed to stop after one use - for a short while longer, he still had a long-range weapon of water in his hands.
Her counterattack had begun. Forming two high-pressure balls of water, she began swimming rapidly in his direction before releasing the two balls. The high-pressure water was racing towards him and at this close range Lao Hu wasn't confident he could avoid both. Even as he moved towards the side, at least one of them was closing in on him. Rather than try to avoid it completely, however, he instead decided to take advantage of her tactic - swinging the whip of water again it smashed into the side of the ball of water, diverting it just slightly off course as, rather than impact directly with his chest or stomach, it instead smacked into his shoulder. The force jerked his shoulder back, but he was fortunate - right now, he only needed one hand for his water whip technique. And the hit he'd taken was the distraction he needed.
His deflection of the ball wasn't the only reason for his earlier whipping attack. No, once it had completed that move he flicked his wrists about, twisting the direction of the water whip's trajectory. Now the water whip was in perfect position for his own follow-up - while she would be distracted by his injury, his own hand would pull on the water whip, attempting to latch the whip around her ankle and drag her towards him. Kairyuu Hebi wasn't just a normal whip, but could even be used as a lasso. He intended to drag her close and attack while she was vulnerable.

It seemed this battle so far was an eye for an eye or at least a shoulder for a shoulder. Both had deflected one attack from the other and both had been hit on the shoulder. However, he had managed to use his deflection to catch her off guard and pull her towards him. It seemed he was trying to turn it close range. However, that was fine with her. Close range was where her best techniques existed and unfortunately for him she still had one shot left of her Kamehou. As she got dragged in towards him she fired it off. It was a useful technique, particularly as few people expected the second set of shots. It was a strange technique. Despite forming two balls of water it did not fire those balls as balls, but as a highly pressurised jet with enough force to cut through things. A closer range shot gave him last chance to dodge and also increased how much of the water pressure remained.
Yet her attack did not end with Kamehou. No, as she was getting in close she fired off a shockwave from her palm. This was not the umidaiko. No this was something much more painful. This was her Kyosamegawara Seiken, her big shark tile true punch. It was a technique with both a close range and a distance version. The close range technique had enough power to break 1500 tiles, the ranged version, which she was using was half of that. It was still a powerful technique and more powerful than any of the traditional tile breaking techniques. It was one she had developed herself.

The second attack of her Kamehou, contrary to what one might think, was not quite impossible for Lao Hu to dodge. Sure, she was being pulled straight towards him, but so long as he had the whip around her ankle he had an advantage over her - and in a three dimensional battlefield, that made all the difference in the world when it came to aiming. So just as he caught sight of her getting ready to throw the attack towards him, he snapped up the whip, causing her leg to fly up, which in turn would forcibly twist her body just enough to throw off her aim, meaning that her Kamehou attack would fly harmlessly away from him as he now prepared to strike. She wasn't quite as close as he'd hoped, but at least she was within range of attack. Letting go of the water whip, he was ready to strike.
Until, of course, he saw her preparing another attack. Seeing her wind back her arm, it didn't take him much time to realize that it was likely a Tile True Punch. No doubt she was going to utilize a big attack like Samegawara Seiken, so he decided he was going to counter instead of rush in. Reaching quickly he grabbed the water again with Mizugokoro and, in a repeat of the beginning of their battle, he swept the water towards her. A wave shot up and spread outwards, taking the full impact of her punch. Watching how the force rippled through the wall of water Lao Hu realized that this punch was not Samegawara Seiken, but something stronger. Had she developed some kind of improvement on the technique? Well, he was fortunate he didn't rush in now.
But unlike before, where sheer numbers wore away the wall's force, this time Tsunami Kenjou only had to deal with repelling one attack. This time, the wave of water continued along its path and now threatened to swallow up Sakana. If she dodged, Lao Hu would be ready to strike. He just had to stay and wait for the opportune moment.

The woman known as Sakana had a slight amount of shock as the wave consumed her attack. It was not her strongest attack, she was saving that, but still to block it so easily was quite impressive. However, it had slowed down the way significantly and her body was still able to perform the high speed movement technique Deshio. Using this she dropped down below the wave and then used it to get in close to him once more, but rather than attacking she used her high speed and manoeverability to swim around him repeatedly in a circular fashion. With each passing moment a current began to generate that began to quickly form into a whirlpool. This was her Uzumaki technique, it was only effective underwater, so only really usable against fishmen. However, it was sufficently strong enough that it took a lot of strength to break out of, something most fishmen possessed, but because they were being spun round by the vortex it made it much more difficult. It also had quite a long duration.
This technique along with a few others was why she had chosen to come underwater. Without these techniques she had developed she did not think she would be able to win. Deshio gave her the speed advantage, even on land, but speed was nothing if she still couldn't get in a decent hit. Underwater, both of them were in their element. They could fight at their peak. Besides, this was a battle that honoured their memories and most of those training sessions were done underwater to make it easier for them till they were experienced enough to do it on land.

He'd nearly forgotten about her high-speed movement technique. It wasn't as if he was completely unprepared for her technique, but when he'd caught her with his water whip her speed advantage had disappeared long enough for him to not think of it. It didn't matter too much, since his wave was meant more to stop her attack, but it now meant that counter-attacking wasn't easy. Before he had a chance to attack, she now began to race around him. It wasn't as if she was even attacking him properly, but as she sped around him the water was turning. He realized a second too late that the water currents were now spiraling around, keeping him in the middle of a large whirlpool. He almost swore, but right now he had bigger problems to deal with.
He couldn't stay in here too long. Nevermind what other secrets this technique could possess, being trapped here in the center of the whirlpool made him a big target. He shouldn't have used Kairyuu Hebi so early, he realized - right now, that might have been useful for getting out of here. But it would take a short while before he could form it again. So he began to think - how would he get out of the whirlpool? He looked at the whirling water again, watching how it spun, and an idea came to him. his face turned to note Sakana's position and an idea popped into his head. It was insane and crazy, but it could work. Looking back to the walls of water spiraling around him, he took hold of the water closest to him with Mizugokoro, clutching it tightly.
"Nice try, Sakana, but a prison this weak can't contain me! Kairyuu Ipponzeoi!" he yelled, throwing the current at the spiraling whirlpool of water. It came as no surprise to anyone that, once the current struck the whirlpool, it would be immediately repelled backwards. What Lao Hu had hoped, and what Sakana would no doubt not expect, was that Lao Hu wanted the technique to be repelled backwards. Kairyuu Ipponzeoi, after all, was a throwing technique. Not just a technique for throwing water, but a technique for using water to throw something. And now, with the force of his own attack behind him, Lao Hu was thrown straight out of the whirlpool like a torpedo through the water.
Right towards Sakana.
As he drew closer, he smirked and raised his arms. At high speed he swung them both, flinging arrows of water straight towards Sakana. Numbering five in total, they shot towards Sakana at even faster speeds. After all, if a fast-moving object fires another object, the other object would inevitably move faster. Now, not only was Lao Hu free, but Sakana would have to face the powerful force of his high-speed Yabusame technique. If it wasn't before, it was obvious now that he'd enacted his mad plan.
Lao Hu was completely insane.

It was possible, just about, for her to see into the whirpool and he seemed to be using Mizugokoro for a purpose, but what purpose? She moved back swiftly and prepare to defend himself when suddenly he began using Kairyuu Ipponzeoi. What was he planning? There was no way that would break it. What trick was he up to? Without warning though he threw the current at the whirlpool and it merely bounced back. What the heck was he doing? Then it hit her as she saw the current hit him. He was using the force of it to propel himself out of it. Clever. Yet that was not his ultimate intention it seemed. Not only had he timed it well enough so he was flying straight at her, but he had prepared an attack as well. The man truly was insane or smart or both.
Fortunately, at least for her, she still had one use left of Deshio. With a quick movement she dropped straight down just enough for the yabusame to fly over her head. With the oncoming speed of him it would be hard for him to manoever so she decided to go for a simple technique which would be aided by his acceleration.
With a quick thrust of his hand she struck towards his chin with an open palm. She concentrated water around her palm to increase the force. It was the High Rank Exploding Palm technique, known also as the Jodan Bakusho. It was quite powerful and most could only use it underwater, but she was skilled enough to even use it on land. Underwater it was especially powerful and with his speed it would be even greater.
There battlefield for a short while had a new element. If someone was knocked in the region of the whirlpool before it dissapated then they could become trapped. Though now both of them knew there was at least one way out of it.
This was fun.

He had been so close this time - even as he rocketed himself towards her and attacked with Yabusame, Sakana proved herself still capable of her high-speed movement technique. That was his biggest problem with her - her speed. With that kind of speed she could outmaneuver him. But how long could she use that speed for? It couldn't have been natural - it had to have been some kind of technique. A form of Fishman Karate she'd developed herself, while they were separated. He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised - she was bound to have come up with some new techniques. He did the same, after all. But right now, she was positioned below him, ready to strike back. Maybe he couldn't dodge this one, but he wasn't going to let her get an attack in so easily.
As she snapped up her palm to slam into his chin, Lao exchanged his own attack simultaneously, swinging his fist in towards her body with great force. Even if she struck him, he intended to strike back in the same moment. And of course, what better way to do so than with his Samegawara Seiken. Even as he felt her palm crash into his jaw and make his head snap back, he knew that at this close range that even if she struck him, it was unlikely she'd be able to avoid getting hit as well in the exchange. And even if she avoided a direct attack, the shockwaves of the water would slam into her anyways. He was taking an attack intentionally so he could send back his own attack. It was exactly the kind of daring attack Lao Hu Long would use.

So her plan had worked and not worked. As her palm hit his jaw with high power he struck back with a technique she would be unable to dodge at that range. At least not without Deshio and she couldn't do that again for a while. The attack hit her in the square of the chest and caused her to cough up some blood. It had hit her quite hard and it was a shockwave attack so had triggered a response like that. Still, even that wasn't enough to take her out so easily. She was a fishman karate user and had been trained to withstand such blows.
There was one way she could do some definite damage to him right now,, but it would involve using a non fishman karate technique and so far both of them had used nothing but fishman karate. Until he did or her hand was truly forced she wouldn't use anything except fishman karate.
At this close range she had some power though and with a quick swing of her other arm she launched off a blade of water like earlier. It would be hard for him to dodge at this range. She thought back to their training days. If she'd been hit with something like Samegawara Seiken back then she'd be out for the count, but not anymore.
As the technique was launched she dropped down and launched another two blades. Two left before she had to wait again. Still it would stop him following for a little bit and that allowed her to drop down even more. The lower she got the more both of them would have to rely on their other senses. It was very dark down here now.

Lao Hu floated backwards a little as his head pulled back, his jaw sore from the impact of her palm strike. Even his neck felt sore from how quickly it had snapped backwards. But he'd landed a hit - his Samegawara Seiken struck her chest and now he was ready to continue. He could feel blood dripping from his gums, but he bore with it. Facing back towards Sakana, however, it seemed she was just as ready to fight back. She began to move her arm again, but this time Lao Hu was prepared. At this range, rather than use smaller arrows like Yabusame, she was going to use her water blades again. She certainly wasn't going for a punch, he could tell, nor another strike. The motion of the arm told him otherwise.
But he was prepared. As she swung her arm, his hand straightened with his thumb tucked in and his fingers outstretched and firmly kept together. Then, rather than swipe his hand through the water, his hand moved forwards, thrusting through the water. Following his hand, it was as if the water formed itself into a sharp spear of water that crashed against her blade of water and nullified it. With the first one deflected, he could reduce the size of his body by swimming headfirst, allowing him to maneuver around the second and third blades as he headed towards her. His legs kicked behind him as he pursued her, refusing to let her escape. With his fist tightly clenched, he decided to swing once more towards her retreating figure.
"Umidaiko!" he exclaimed, his fist smashing into the water with enough force to create a shockwave that would stamp the emblem of his Jolly Roger into her body should it hit her. Even if she tried to hide in the dark, his techniques had a broad range to strike her with.

She'd glanced back to see him block her attacks. Damn, he was good. However, his umidaiko would once again fail as she had turned when she saw him block the attack and launched her own version. It would cancel out his, but it was swiftly followed by her launching off both remaining fukashikon and a powerful yarinami.
The fukashikon were not aimed directly at him, but to each side to try and hit him even if he dodged to the left and right. Of course, she knew he was capable of blocking and dodging, but he should be getting worn down. She knew she was. This had become a battle of attrition that neither wanted to give up on. Still, if she could get him into a position where he couldn't dodge and hit him with one of her strong attacks then she could end this.
