Children get to run around dressed in fanciful costumes, pretending to be heroes or monsters. Adults get a night to get drunk and make mistakes while wearing costumes, and being someone else. Even for the less adventurous types, they get to see the cheerful faces of children at their doors. Though, there is a small portion of people who harbor distaste for the holiday, and even smaller yet is those who love the holiday for all the wrong reasons.
One such person was crouched down in an alleyway, well hidden by the darkness that shrouded him, and the bins and other things that littered the narrow passage. Easily, he could be mistaken for a trash bag, or missed entirely by an uninterested pedestrian. It was as he planned. The spot was picked specifically, and his prey led there to hide suspicion.
The prey that he was currently cannibalizing.
Hidden by his body was the form of a small child dressed in a witch costume. Or at least, it was. By now much of the flesh was gone, and it was just a bloody heap. Rama would work to make sure to eat up every morsel as if he were simply eating a chicken leg. Then, he would use the poor child's candy bag to store her organs, which needed to be cooked, and cleansed before consumption.
Standing up, the green haired male would stretch out his stiff muscles, and glance down at himself. It was easy to see, even in the dim light that he was dirty, but he didn't care. On this night, it could simply pass off as a costume, and so, feeling a little sloppy, he would simply exit the alleyway, and begin walking down the street with the bag in hand. He got a few odd looks, but, as expected, it was simply passed off as a costume by most.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #111111; width:325px; padding:15px; border-left: 10px solid E6E6E6; vertical-align:top;] The crew had been waiting to head out for the night to celebrate the holiday, though most had gone on ahead, a few had waited for their Captain to finished getting ready. Fortunately, they didn't have to wait long as the click of the heeled boots came down the walk way. A few jaws managed to drop though as they noticed what she was wearing, doing something of a double take. "O-Oi! Captain, are you sure that's appropriate?" One of them questioned as they looked over. Now the crew was aware that Rei has something of a flare when it came to fashion or running around in somewhat revealing clothing, but this was a first even for the Captain.
She was wearing a black dress that came off the shoulders and that flared out at the bottom in pink lace, which was above her knee in length. A small bow rested on the chest and seemed to tie back into a corset where a much larger bow was tied with the same ribbon. The sleeves were separate from the dress with yellow trim that went down the arm to form a pair of black silk gloves. On her feet were a pair of laced up yellow boots, whose tall length was high enough to actually go over the knee, though the high heel on them was hard to miss. It was topped off with a simple black choker that held a sea-colored stone that seemed to match the Captain's eyes and black witches hat, the sort one normally saw drawn in story books.
"What? I thought it was cute. Besides, it's Halloween and the Marines were kind enough to give me the idea for a costume." Raisa retorted with a smirk and a shrug as she started down the docks. "Come on, if you guys keep standing around, we're going to miss all the fun!" She called back cheerfully, which seemed to snap them out of their confusion and gawking. They quickly picked up the pace behind and it wasn't long before they'd managed to grab some drinks at the bar, as well as some sugary confections.
Continuing to venture down the street, Rei began searching for candy covered apples, but before she managed to get to far she'd turned directly into the path of an individual, which to her horror was had crimsons stains all down the front of his shirt. The sight and scent was enough to instinctively send the captain reeling backwards and into a crew member, who already tipsy ended up sending them backwards into the ground. "Jeez, Captain, what's got into you?!" The man barked in confusion as her gaze immediately darted up to the green haired young man in confusion. For once in her life though, Rei couldn't get a word out.
Another crew member who witnessed the sight immediately started laughing at the sight. "Take it easy, Captain. It's just a costume. It's Halloween." He reminded her. "Nice zombie costume, kid." The pirate spoke in congratulations, since it was rare for many people to get the drop on the "Black Witch".
"...Y-Yeah,.... sorry about that." Rei stammered, nodding lightly at the word. However, no matter how hard she tried to think of it as a costume, something about his appearance almost made her cringe. Having learned the skills of a doctor as a young child, Rei was no stranger to blood, but there had always been something sickening about the metallic smell that she loathed with a passion. No, it was just because of the holiday. There was nothing to be scared of.... no matter how badly her instincts screamed at her that something was very wrong about this person. | [atrb=style, padding:10px; width:115px; background-color: #000000;][atrb=valign,top][style=background-color: #111111; background-attachment: scrolling; height:100px; width:100px; padding:5px; border: 1px solid #7094DB;] [/style]

At first, it somewhat surprised him, and caused him to blink, but upon further inspection, it didn't really seem all that surprising. Considering her outfit, and the men that were around her, she was some sort of floozy. It somewhat piqued his interest when one of the men called her captain, but it was rather irrelevant. He didn't expect much from her.
"Zombie?" he'd echo the man's word with a tilt of his head. "I suppose if that is what you think I look like." At that thought, he would pull a lollipop from his jacket pocket, and began sucking on it, despite the fact that there was still the remnants of the metallic tasting blood in his mouth. Rather, it was because of that fact that he felt the need to consume the sucker. "I would have thought vampire, though I suppose there's far too much blood for that..." Rama would then look to the woman, as if she had just spoken; though, in reality, that had been moments before. "No need to apologize, though I suggest sticking to the bars if you scare so easily." he'd tell her matter of factually. For the entire time that the green haired male spoke, his face was deadpan, and his voice rather flat.
Rama would remain quiet for a moment before speaking up. "Would you like some candy?" he'd ask, before sticking a hand in his pocket and pulling out an assortment of lollipops, mini chocolate bars, sweet tarts, and the like, and holding them out to the woman. Of course, considering the fact that he had a rather good amount of blood on his hand, this was transferred onto the the candies as well.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #111111; width:325px; padding:15px; border-left: 10px solid E6E6E6; vertical-align:top;] Rei was still watching the young man cautiously, though her gaze immediately snapped up as her brow dropped in annoyance at the accusation. "I wasn't scared!" The Captain snapped back in protest. Of course, being a Captain meant that the young could be incredibly proud. She certainly didn't want it getting out that the notorious Black Witch'' was squeamish at the sight of human blood. "I was simply startled by your sudden appearance and possible injuries and I tripped over my subordinate. It's an instinctive reflex from years of training." Rei explained confidently, though even the crew had to exchange a few glances with each other, questioning whether the Captain was serious or not.
Come to think of it though, none of them had ever seen her really kill that many people at one time. Sure, she used a blade, but the weapon was a different sort of polearm, one that rarely meant it's users had to come into contact with blood unless it was small amounts of random splatter. In fact, the Captain's primary method of dealing with large groups of enemies was not to deal with them at all, but to use her devil fruit powers to freeze their bodies and in some sense their blood, solid.
Her attention soon turned to Rama though as he offered her some candy, though when her blue eyes dropped to the blooded stained candy, Raisa almost immediately felt her stomach turn in protest. "Um, no thanks. I actually had some sweets back at the last bar." She replied politely, though continued to try and push back the pale coloring that continued to drain out of her face. It was just fake costume blood. Nothing about it was real. There were no diseases or contents of human life, just some colored syrup or some other costume trick. Silently, Rei continued to chant the mantra in her head, fighting the urge to loose the contents of stomach on the pavement.
"Captain, maybe you should sit down. You don't look well." One of the men suggested in concern, before being waved off. Then again, none of them had ever seen the Captain act so peculiar. She had served as the ships doctor for the better part of the voyage, so anytime someone had a physical injury from battle or contracted some disease, she was always the first to find a solution. None of them were aware of the dark shadows that lay hidden in the Captain's past or the life she'd suffered before setting out to sea.
"I told you, I'm fine. I probably just had a few to many drinks." Rei explained, hoping to reassure them. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Mister..." The Captain allowed the word to linger in the air, hoping that the curious young man would fill in the blank with his name. Although, truthfully, Rei had never had to force herself to be so polite to someone, fighting every instinct inside of her to turn around, go back to the ship, and forget that she had ever met the horrifying young stranger dressed as something that existed only in the Captain's darkest nightmares. | [atrb=style, padding:10px; width:115px; background-color: #000000;][atrb=valign,top][style=background-color: #111111; background-attachment: scrolling; height:100px; width:100px; padding:5px; border: 1px solid #7094DB;] [/style]

After all, who would reject perfectly good candy even if they'd just had some? Rama's gaze would drop to the candies in his hand for a moment before simply shrugging it off, and shoving them back into his pocket. It was her loss that she couldn't handle a little blood. Once the candies were back in his pocket, he would pull the sucker out of his mouth with a smack of his lips. While the woman reassured her followers that it was just because of a few too many drinks, he stared at the swirls of red on the candy before putting it back in his mouth when she implied that she was inquiring his name.
"Zombie." he'd say in a disinterested tone, as he glanced at the odd few people who passed them by. "You can call me Mister Zombie." Rama would reiterate as he turned his attention back to the woman. Quickly, she was beginning to bore him, and he had other things he could be doing. Of course, the other thing was eating the organs he was currently holding in 'his' trick-or-treat bag. As his thoughts turned to that, he got an idea. It was obvious that this woman didn't like blood to a rather extreme extent, and she didn't want the men to realize how much it affected her.
"If you don't want to get your hands sticky from the blood, you just have to say so." The green haired male would say as a plan began to form in his mind. It was risky, what he planned. It was easy enough to simply say that the organs were props, and the blood was fake, but she could still figure it out, and it wouldn't be good for him. Rama was confident that her reaction would be well worth it, though, and that he could figure out a plan if things went south. "I feel bad, though." It was impossible to tell if he was sincere with his deadpan expression. "So, you can take some candy from here." Rama would say as he held out the bag, making sure to use the lighting to his advantage, and making it so she couldn't quite tell what was in the bag. "Take a big handful, as much as you want." As he spoke, he stared intently at her, eagerly awaiting to see if she'd take the bait.

Kahana Magami was one of the Insectoid race and a marine admiral. Plus she was one for order. It was strange to think she'd take part in any halloween events. However, she did for one reason. Candy. She had a ferocious sweet tooth. She claimed she was only doing it because it was traditional for people to dress up and go get candy, but in reality it was purely for the candy. The thing about her was that she had an edge in her costume. Most people had to have fake wings or go without, but she had real wings, fairie wings in fact. She decided she would go as a fairy queen and dressed herself in an elegant dress. Her spear, the weapon of choice for her, would be her staff. It looked elegant enough. Atop her head was a silver coloured tiara set with glass gems of varying colours. She was the perfect fairy queen.
She walked through the streets calmly with a bag in one hand that was filled with candy she had got from various bars. With her were several marines all dressed in costumes to make themselves look like ancient knights. It was quite fun to be the queen with a group of knights.
Ahead of her she noticed a large group with a child all covered in fake blood, or so she assumed. It was odd that such a group were near a child. Perhaps they were trying to kidnap him or something, but he didn't seem scared. She decided to pretend not to have noticed and went down a side street. Once her and her men were out of sight she ordered them to wait whilst she investigated. With little effort the yellow cicade flew up onto the roof and walked across it till she was above the group. Everything seemed fine for now.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #111111; width:325px; padding:15px; border-left: 10px solid E6E6E6; vertical-align:top;] Rei remained surprisingly quiet as the young man introduced himself, though the name was clearly an alias if the pirate had ever heard one. Sure, the Captain knew she was being foolish for being so weary of the young man. He didn't even appear to be a devil fruit user. Even so, he wore the scent the death, something Rei hadn't noted on many people. Occasionally, you would run across a pirate or a Marine who wreaked of the aura from war or battle, but that was rare and even more foreign given the setting.
A hard smack on the shoulder was enough to drag her back to the present as the young man offered to let her retrieve some candy from his bag to avoid getting any of the 'fake' blood on her hands. "I-I..." Rei wanted to protest, but the crew had already seen fit to butt in.
"Come on, Captain. Not to many men would let you reach into their bag on a first date." One of them teased, as a few of them chuckled in amusement. Then again, they'd never seen the single Captain shy around to many men, so clearly had developed the wrong assumption about her hesitation.
That didn't stop them from earning a dirty look at their innuendo. "Shut up, you morons!" Rei snapped, letting out a snort in annoyance. "Fine, I guess it's alright." The Captain decided, hoping to silence their antics as she reached into the open bag unwittingly. As her hand closed down around something warm and wet though, there was a clear and visible chill that ran up the pirate's spine as she went ghostly pale.
"Come on Captain, let's see what you got!" The young man behind her called out clearly before noticing the strange look on the Captain's face as she attempted to withdraw her hand. "Eh? Captain?" He questioned before noticing her hand as Rei drew it back up into the light. It was a sight that nearly stopped his and several of the crew's hearts cold as a thin veil of crimson could be seen coating the young woman's hand.
It took Rei a moment to really grasp what she was holding in her hand, but more disturbing than simply the bloody color on her hand was the oddly shaped object that medical memory seemed to indicate was the same shape as a human heart.... She was hold a... a.... The moment it registered, Rei couldn't think, she couldn't breath. The only thing that managed to escape was a sudden and very feminine high-pitched scream in horror as she released the organ, or rather threw the organ into the air and darted backwards.
Rei didn't get more than a few steps when everything went black. Fortunately, two of her crew where there to catch her, though it didn't erase the looks of shock and concern on their feature. "Captain?! Captain!" They called out, but to no avail as it was evident, Rei was out cold and not responding.
"You bastard! What did you do?" One of the crew snarled in demand for an answer, going for his weapon defensively. Then again, none of them had ever seen the Captain react so dramatically to anything. The crew had faced many things over the past couple years from storms to Sea Kings. Rei always dealt with it in the same calm and almost aloof mannerisms, but this... This was just down right weird.
"What kind of sick son-of-a-bitch carried that stuff around?" Another pondered aloud curiously, glancing over at the heart that had landed a few feet away from them. It then returned to the Captain, who he was still having to hold onto, because she was still out of it | [atrb=style, padding:10px; width:115px; background-color: #000000;][atrb=valign,top][style=background-color: #111111; background-attachment: scrolling; height:100px; width:100px; padding:5px; border: 1px solid #7094DB;] [/style]

At most he'd been expecting a scream, and a freak out, but passing out? That was something completely unexpected. Despite the fact that his face remained completely expressionless, he was absolutely and completely overjoyed, and simply cracking up, on the the inside. It was most definitely well worth the risk of being found out.
"I did nothing." he would tell the angered crew member simply as he made to walk over, and pick up the heart which had so carelessly been thrown by the woman in her shock. After picking it up, he'd blow on it, and brush the dirt off on his shirt before returning it back to his trick-or-treat bag. Turning back to the crew, and taking a few steps back in their direction. "The custom is 'trick or treating', no? I simply gave her the 'trick' instead of the 'treat'." he would shrug.
Not for a moment did Rama suspect that these men might hurt him. They had weapons, and apparently cared very much for their 'captain', but he didn't feel as if these men were a threat in the slightest. "It is not my fault that your 'captain' is weak when it comes to surprises." Rama would tell them, putting some emphasis on the word weak. His attempts to toy with these people didn't simply end with making their captain faint. His attention now turned to the riled up men as he decided that he would see how much fun could be gained from riling them up even further.

A scream. The smell of blood and what appeared to be a heart being dropped to the ground. Fake or real? That was the question. From her elevation it was hard to tell, but from the sound of the group it seemed they were real or very realistic fakes. What interested her more was that both the group and the child referred to the woman as a captain. Mentally she scanned through the list of marine captains in her head. She didn't know all of them of course, but she knew quite a few through records. The face didn't ring a bell. Could she be a pirate captain? That was possible, but again hard to tell. It was more likely now she noticed the age of the girl. She couldn't be any older than the kid.
In her eyes both of them would be teenagers at best because her race did not come of age till the age of 25 and they were a lot younger than her. There was no way either was over 20. Even by human standards they were barely adults and in some areas they would only be young adults and not adults.
She closed her eyes and focused. It was time to activate her kenbunshoku haki in order to try and analyse the emotions and nature of those below. It seemed the 'crew' were intent on gaining vengeance for this 'trick' and the kid seemed adamant on winding the crew up. .The crew were easier to read as their anger was rapidly becoming killing intent, though she doubted if they'd actually kill a kid just for this. The kid's aura intrigued her. It felt strange. It felt like there was some sort of hunger to it. It was hard to read though. If she was closer she'd be able to read it better. She nodded to herself and returned to her own crew.
After a brief conversation she walked down the street with them flanking her like a royal escort. They approached the crew at an average walking pace not trying to alarm them. Her focus on her haki was high so she'd be ready to dodge a surprise attack.
"Good evening gentlemen." she said formally. She was trying to remain in character. "May I inquire as to what is going on here? A group of men, an unconcious girl and a kid...it is an odd combination."

"What did you say, you little punk?!" One of them snapped in agitation, stepping forward to snatch the young man up by his shirt. Then again, considering the man was almost a foot taller than his Captain and more muscular than the young man, his presence was nothing to sneeze at by any standard. Besides, while they might have been pirates, the crew was but the crew was also something of an extended family and no one got away with talking trash about them, certainly not the Captain. Stronger men than him had been turned into human ice sculptures for less remarks and had he not used such an underhanded little scheme, he probably would have joined them.
Unfortunately, before they could do anything, a female voice cut into the conversation, causing them to glance over at the Marine curious. "Maybe you ought to ask the brat that's carrying around fake hearts and scaring people to death with this crap." He snapped in annoyance, clearly not amused by the prank by any stretch of the imagination. "I swear I got half a mind to-"
"Knock it off, Lin. We didn't come here to start trouble." A familiar voice snapped in command as the Captain sat up, though still looked a little sick to her stomach as she pushed herself. Despite a couple protests not to move to quickly from the crew, Rei quickly shooed them the away as she swallowed back the paleness and queasy feeling that threatened to make her loose whatever contents she had on her stomach. "Besides... I don't know where he got it, but that wasn't fake." Rei explained calmly, as the crew member released the young man, though not exactly in the most gentle of manners.
The news immediately raised a few eyebrows though, with good reason. "What are you talking about? Of course, it's fake. What kind of person...." There was a brief silence as the pieces of puzzle seemed to fall into place. The Captain's weird behavior earlier, the strange hesitation, and the reason she'd been shocked into fainting was because... "HOLY CRAP! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" They all answered in unison, quickly retreating from the young man as their jaws hung open in shock.
"Idiots, how many times have I treated your wounds as a doctor? I think if anyone here knows what a bodily organ feels like and what blood smells like, it's me." Rei answered in a dull tone, though was careful to watch her words or give away where she had actually treated them. As long as they didn't go blurting out that she was their Captain, the woman, who was clearly a Marine wouldn't be able to discern with certainty whether they were pirates or simply citizens attending a festival together. "I think the better question here, is where you managed to acquire that, Mister Zombie? I don't recall any clinics or hospitals in this town that tend to loan out transplanted organs for use in practical jokes, so why do you enlighten us?" The Captain questioned, leaving the blame and the focus on the young man.
Besides, while Rei was certainly curious of the answer, she had no intention of those idiot Marines pinning this on them, so figured it was best to spell it out for them now that the woman had seen fit to interject herself into the situation. Not that the Captain really cared one way or another who strung him up later, but she was certain. She might not have had the stomach to be a surgeon, but Rei knew enough about medicine to know beyond a shadow of a doubt what she'd had in her hand. What bothered her was the size and warmth? It was sickening to think about, but the scent of death was unmistakable and if she was right, this went much deeper than some silly practical joke. | [atrb=style, padding:10px; width:115px; background-color: #000000;][atrb=valign,top][style=background-color: #111111; background-attachment: scrolling; height:100px; width:100px; padding:5px; border: 1px solid #7094DB;] [/style]
