After departing from Lao's ship to return to her own home she requested a few days of leave which due to how grateful they were for her securing the yonkou's protection was agreed to. Sakana had headed to her home, which was rarely visited by her as she stayed mostly at the palace and entered. It was designed mostly as a training area for herself.
In one room was a large deep pool of water. This pool's width at its deepest point was bigger than her house. It was the ideal training environment for her. Every technique a fishman learned was generally first learned in water as it was easier to manipulate water if there was a large amount of it. With grace she dove into the pool and swam straight to the bottom.
Once at the bottom she closed her eyes. The first technique she wished to learn was one that had been used effectively against her by Lao. WIthout it she felt she would of won the battle. This was also the starting point for some technique ideas she had thought of.
The technique began with mizugokoro, a simple technique, and seemed to be a variation on the kairyuu ipponzeoi, a technique she had mastered many years ago. However, that lifted currents and was used to lift objects whereas the Kairyuu Hebi functioned as a whip. It would be more difficult to accomplish, but not impossible.
With a cupping motion of her hands mizugokoro was performed and she focused on the water extending it into a tendril of water. This was not a difficult task as she had much experience in manipulating water in this fashion. However, making it 'solid' enough that it could function as an actual whip would be the tricky part. That and learning control to use it well.
With a swift motion she lashed out with the tendril at a dummy on the bottom of the pool. It hit the target with little effect and did not bind the opponent as she had seen, and felt, Lao use it.
"Perhaps if I use the principle of murasame, that turns water into a shark capable of eating." she mused and tried again. This time the tendril seemed more 'solid' and when she whipped it against the target it caused some movement and it even wrapped slightly, but it soon dissipated. This was going to be trickier than she first thought.
