It had been nearly two weeks since Hakkyou had made port in the Autumn Islands. She had traveled there without her crew, and under her guise of Hawk. Her typical red clothing had been left at her home in Loguetown, as had her ship. She’d needed a break from her crew and the constant headaches they gave her; so she’d borrowed a small air dinghy from one of the trading companies that owed her a favor and set out in disguise for a bit of rest and relaxation.
Her black coat billowed behind her as she walked through the small port town she’d been staying in. The constant autumn season was pleasant, and her dark outfit was comfortably warm in the slightly chilly air. She was keeping her tail and recognizable facial features well hidden; a mask over the bottom half of her face covering her features, and her tail hidden under her coat.
Normally she would use this pseudo alter-ego of hers to try and find some kind of serious relationship. Unfortunately her lack of luck with finding someone willing to stay with her after finding out her demonic heritage caused a lot of heartache. She wanted to avoid negative experiences during this short vacation, so she was pointedly avoiding getting romantically involved with anyone.
Instead she was just enjoying the quiet of the somewhat sleepy little port town. There were just enough shops to keep her entertained, and the center of the town featured some rather lovely cafés. Currently she was sitting in a small outdoor section of one of the cafés, enjoying the air and waiting on a cup of hot tea and an apple tart. It seemed like a rather fitting choice since apples always seemed to be in season here.
She intended to stay in the town for a few more days, though the funds she had brought with her were beginning to dwindle. More worrying than her decreasing money though, was the increased marine presence in the town over the past few days.
So far she hadn’t been recognized, and she intended to keep things that way until she set out for Loguetown again. If one of the more knowledgeable higher-ups showed their face though, she would need to high tail it out of there before they realized who she was.

"Umi wa mite iru... Hm-mm-hmmm-mm-hm-mm~" hummed an older man as he walked along a leaf-covered path. He walked at a gradual, slow pace as red and yellow leaves fell from the trees that lined the side of the path. The wind breezed gently through his long, dark locks of hair as well as the white coat that had been draped across his shoulders. The distinct character for 'Justice' on the back of the coat made his affiliation known to all, though it was incredibly likely his face would have done so anyway. There were only a scarce few who had never heard of an Admiral, after all. Faust's face had shown up more than a few times in newspapers - sometimes more than he'd like for it to.
He'd been assigned to a few of the Autumn Islands of the Grand Line as of late - no doubt because the Marines felt they needed to keep their Admirals wandering about the Grand Line a little more. He didn't mind it, of course, simply because he was well aware that the simple presence of the Marines could sometimes be all that was necessary to keep crime down. In addition, wandering the Autumn Island felt so relaxing it was almost as if the World Government was paying him to go on holiday. Sometimes you just needed an escape to a humble port town like this one. He'd grown up in and spent enough time in large cities that he rather enjoyed it when given the opportunity to go somewhere like this.
As he walked down through the town he found himself pausing by a small cafe. He stared for a moment and scratched his chin, as if debating with himself. He took a glance at the sun and it's position in the sky for a moment before he smiled. He had enough time, and it was very nearly his lunch break anyway. He could afford to sit down and have a drink. He took a glance across the outside section of the store, noting how all of the tables seemed to be occupied. He stopped for a moment as his eyes rested upon a woman with a dark mask over her face. There was something that seemed strangely familiar about her, yet he couldn't quite place a finger on it. Putting on his best smile however, he approached the table where the young woman sat.
"My apologies, young lady," he began, giving a smile. "Do you mind if I sit here? The sights around here look so good that I just can't bear to sit inside...". He gave a chuckle as he rested his metallic hand upon the seat opposite the masked woman. Hopefully she wouldn't object.

Well…shit.
Faust was the absolute last person she wanted to run into here, especially when she didn’t have her weapons or a crew member as backup. It seemed luck was on her side though. He hadn’t recognized her; yet. Hakkyou could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Getting out of this situation as quickly as possible would be the best option.
She knew if she declined his request to sit at the table she was at it would make her seem suspicious. There was no one she knew here who would take the seat either. Hakkyou realized she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, so she decided it was time to improvise. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to use Succubus’s Charm. She knew it wouldn’t have anywhere close to the full effect on Faust; he had too much willpower to be swayed by her demonic ability that easily. It would help keep any suspicions he had about her at bay for now, as well as make her appear much more charming than she was normally; though she never really tried to be charming normally so it wasn’t hard to do.
“An Admiral, wanting to sit at my table? What an honor,” she said, keeping her voice sounding rather lyrical and fighting to keep any traces of sarcasm out of her tone. She motioned toward the chair opposite her as she spoke, sitting up a little straighter as well.
At this point she hoped it would be a while longer for her tea and tart to arrive. Taking off her mask to eat would almost certainly reveal who she was.

"I'm just a guy," he remarked with a wave of his hand, feeling a little uneasy around the woman's praise. Still, the dark-haired Admiral smiled and began to pull out the seat and sit down opposite her. He leaned back in the chair, causing it to creak very slightly as he stared out across the town. After taking a glance he turned back towards the young woman and continued to smile. A part of him couldn't help but feel that there was something familiar about her - particularly her voice - yet he couldn't quite place it. Had he ever met her before? She certainly didn't look like someone he'd met before. Disregarding the familiarity he felt however he decided to speak up. "The sights are very wonderful. Do you live here? Or are you just visiting, like me?".
Taking another glance out across the town and the island again the Admiral smiled to himself. Most of his time was occupied by paperwork and meeting with noblemen, half of whom were incredibly boring and half of whom were incredibly bigoted. To be able to just sit around and relax was a welcome change. Even on the seas he had to watch how much he slacked off, knowing that Pirates could launch an attack at any moment. The life of a Marine was not easy, but then, he'd known that long before he even joined up. Faust stretched himself a bit as he sat in the chair before looking back to the young woman, listening out for her answer. If she was a native, perhaps he could learn a thing or two from her about the island. If he ever had the spare time, he'd definitely consider returning.

Hakkyou could feel the base of her tail twitch as a cramp began to set in. It wasn’t helping the situation at all, that was for sure. She tried to move her focus away from her discomfort and to the question Faust posed for her. Keeping up the appearance she was just a civilian traveling was the best option; she didn’t have enough knowledge of the area to pass off as a local. “I’m merely visiting. I was getting rather tired of the constant heat of summer at home,” she kept a cheeriness in her voice; Faust had only ever heard the Hellfire Queen’s voice sound gruff, angry, or rather demented, and she was counting on the difference in tone to keep him off her trail, “My brother was also becoming a bit of a bother, and I was needing a break from his constant badgering.”
Upon discussing with Jack his claim of being her sibling, she had to admit he had some good points. There was enough evidence that a sibling connection between the two of them was plausible; and Hakkyou’s secret desperation for any kind of family through her life made it very easy for her to agree with him. So now she suddenly found herself with a brother and was taking the advantage of using him as an excuse for a vacation. It was a lot more innocent sounding than needing to get away from her crew for a few days. Another boon was the fact he had such an utterly common name; she could let it slip and no one would be the wiser as to whom it really was she was talking about.
For now her luck was holding out as well. There wasn’t any sign that her order was being delivered to the table yet. She just needed to keep him talking a while longer so she could think of some excuse to get away.
“I take it it’s safe to assume you’re here on assignment, rather than vacation?”

"Ah, do you come from a Summer Island?" the Admiral asked, his brow raised in curiosity at her mention of the heat. He was certain she had to be from the Grand Line - it was rare that civilians from the Four Blues chose the Grand Line as a holiday destination. Regardless of whether she was or not, he was simply interested in keeping the conversation going. He figured it was only polite to engage in some small talk - it would be far more awkward if they both sat in silence. "My hometown is pretty sunny, too, though we used to get the worst rainy season. I'd almost prefer to live in Arabasta Kingdom, even with the sandstorms".
His mind turned back to the Aqua Laguna. He remembered a time when he'd sit at home, staring out at the heavy downpour as gigantic waves crashed against Water 7. Several times he'd seen entire blocks of the outermost city be completely submerged in water. The Aqua Laguna was a regular part of life back on Water 7, he knew, but that didn't make it any less terrifying to watch. It was his first lesson in just how harsh the sea could be. In a way, he was somewhat grateful for it - had he not experienced the sea in such a way as a child, he wondered if he would have become nearly as noteworthy a Marine. He broke away from his own thoughts just as the young woman began to ask him if he was here on assignment.
"Ah... I suppose you could say I'm on assignment, yes," he remarked, contemplating the orders he'd been given. "I guess it'd be better to just say I'm on a routine check-up. Sometimes just having an authority figure nearby can be enough to deter crime, you know? I guess there aren't a lot of Pirates who try to do something when an Admiral's around. In any case, there's nothing too serious to worry about - as far as the Grand Line goes, this island looks pretty safe and sound".
