All of these outfits tend to hide the fact she's female, and her somewhat androgenous voice doesn't help. Despite this she does have one outfit that she wears most of the time. She wears a black coat with a hood and half length sleeves over a longsleeved, button up shirt made of patterned white fabric with patterned gray fabric for the sleeves. She leaves this shirt unbuttoned and underneath it wears a black sleeveless shirt with a white hem. Her pants are black and have a gap just above the knee with belts on each side to keep the legs attached. The seams on the sides of the legs and around the gap are decorated with silver studs. The pants also have a silver chain that hangs by her left hip. On her feet she wears black boots with a slight heel and silver accents. Around her neck she wears a black collar and a gray scarf that matches the sleeves of her white shirt. She also wears a lot of earrings and necklaces from time to time, and now and then changes the dog collar to one of a different style, but it is always black. Abnormalities: The only noticable abnormality Kaida has are her canine teeth. They're noticably longer and sharper than human teeth. BACKGROUND Kaida's early childhood was just like any other; loving parents, annoying older brother, best friend she'd probably grow up to end up marrying. The typical childhood for a very typical child. Just like with any childhood though, there is always a touch of tragedy. Kaida's childhood friend was an adventerous boy named Ryuu, and one fateful weekend he and his parents were staying the weekend so their parents could discuss the inevitable future bethrothal of the two of them. The weekend started off perfectly normal, but during the first night of the visit there was a severe house fire, only Kaida, her brother, and Ryuu were able to get out in time. The next day a local relative of Kaida's came by to collect Kaida and her brother, Ryuu's fate was up in the air due to the issue of him not having any other relatives. Unfortunately for Kaida's relatives, she had other plans. As they loaded her brother into a carriage Kaida bit the one who had been restraining her. Once free she bolted, grabbing Ryuu by the collar of his shirt and dragging him along with her until they were both exhausted to the point of collapsing. After that they lived the remainder of their childhoods as street rats, Kaida eventually growing to become a decent bounty hunter, and Ryuu becoming a pirate. After doing a rather heinious crime, Ryuu managed to get himself on Kaida's list of targets. This also caused Kaida to lose all respect for him, though deep down she cannot deny she still cares about him. Ryuu on the other hand is very open about the romantic feelings he developed for Kaida, and is constantly trying to get her to be his, even if it means kidnapping. His attempts usually result in both of them ending up empty handed after a meeting that can be described as a deadly dance of cat and mouse. She filched it from one of her early targets as she was taking them in to collect the bounty. The blade is 3' long and the shaft is just over 5'. With the blade collapsed down she can easily carry it in a special holster on her back that she made. With a quick flick the blade can be popped into place to fight, the mechanism at the top locking it in place until Kaida hits the release to collapse it again. Non-weapons Poker Cards :: This deck is a deck she made herself. She didn't add any marks to the backs to cheat with because she doesn't need them. The front of the cards are decorated with different images, most of them are a small blue bird with large plumage and crystals. Plush Phoenix :: A small plush toy in the form of a pale blue phoenix. Kaida keeps it on her at all times as a sort of good luck charm. It had been a gift from her brother when they had been young. Knapsack :: Just a simple knapsack Kaida uses to carry her clothes and provisions. First Aid Kit :: A small first aid kit Kaida keeps in case of emergencies. ABILITIES Phoenix Tears :: Due to a psuedo-family curse Kaida has she has the ability to heal small wounds. She can also use this ability to stem the bleeding or lessen the pain of more serious injuries. Minor to moderate cuts and burns take half a post to heal. Stemming the bleeding takes a full post and normal bleeding resumes 3 posts after that. Lessening pain takes a full post as well, but lasts for 5 posts after that. Tweet of the Owl, Hoot of the Crow :: Thanks to her curse, Kaida is able to communicate to birds on a basic level. She cannot use complicated forms of communication, but she can understand basic meaning and emotions behind bird calls such as "follow", "danger", happiness, and anger, as well as reproduce those same types of calls. She can only get across basic meanings and emotions as well, nothing complex. RACIAL FEATURES Midnight at the Masquerade :: This ability produces a 30ft radius illusion around Kaida. Once set the illusion's area does not move, and if Kaida walks past the outer limit of the illusion is breaks. The area witin the illusion appears to be surrounded by a glass bubble, and everything inside is a large masquerade ball. Anyone caught in the area will appear to be dressed up for the ball, though most of the 'party-goers' are merely part of the illusion. Normal people won't feel compelled by the illusion to dance and make merry, but the illusion people will be going about as if there was a ball going on the entire time. The theme of the ball can vary each time she uses the ability so Kaida's costume is never the same. Trick of the Light :: Due to Kaida's unnatural heritage she has the ability to change her hair color at will. She can change it to any color she pleases, wether it be black, pink, purple, etc... She normally sticks to white, red, black, or blonde. This ability has a habit of triggering when she's having an intense emotional reaction as well.
