I don't know if Joyce would ever be willing to join a pirate crew, but Rei might certainly ask XD Outside of that, I see her being gernally laid back and maybe wanting to make friends with her if/when they meet somewhere along her trip into the Grand Line. It's up to you though, I'm up for any ideas or plots if you think of any.

Well, Joyce isn’t very likely to pick sides or a permanent team, but she likes to hang around interesting and fun people. Most often she joins crews temporarily and unofficially. For example, she’ll get a ride to some island in exchange for helping with chores or filling in for the shipwright. On the other hand, if the crew is wild and adventurous enough in the right way, she could hang around for a bit longer than just the one trip. Rei would have to make an incredible impression on Joyce to have her join the crew permanently though. Then again, considering Rei’s track record, it actually isn’t that unlikely.

I think Rei and Joyce could be good friends. Joyce for one won’t care one bit about any of Rei’s bad reputation. I can even see a sort of a sister relationship forming between them. For now, I’ll mark them as friends and we can see how things go from there.

As far as threads go, I have two ideas for Joyce I have been shaping lately. One is a (bit too) close encounter with a big, mean fish (perhaps even a Sea King) while she’s fishing and the other is searching for work to pay her next meal.

On the grand plot side, Joyce wants to visit all the big landmarks of the world, no matter how far away, dangerous or impossible they are. For example, she wants to explore Amazon Lily, walk on the cactus-shaped mountains of Cactus Island, see Enies Lobby and visit what she thinks is a fairytale place called Fishman Island. So, she'll need to find some powerful friends sooner or later.

Sounds good. Rei will make friends with just about anybody, even if she didn't join up as a crew mate, and I don't think she'd mind her traveling with them for a bit, since both her bounty hunters are actually members, but are under contract XD It might be interesting to see how it plays out and maybe if Rei turns out to be more of an older sister, she would be protective enough to maybe even take her to Fishman Island with them when they go.

Um, at the moment, Rei's just about to enter the Grand Line so it starting off pretty near the beginning, so the run in with a Sea King might be fun. Maybe while she's out fishing the crew could come across them and Rei could stop her from being eaten or something and have her ride with them to the next island or something. Then maybe Joyce can let on about wanting to see the world and Rei can let on about wanting to go to the end of the Grand Line and finding One Piece, ect. Kind of connect over conversation and such. Maybe have Joyce return the favor or something by repairing the ship or something of that nature.

If you want to get a thread starter, that would be great. Just let me know where and I'll have Rei pop in and maybe some of her crew, since I'm working on getting her first mate in the mix as well.
