BACKGROUND Valkyrie is originally from Elbaf, the island of proud giant warriors. She grew up among rowdy and fearless friends. Both of her parents were also pirates, so becoming a brave warrior was very much in her blood. That's also where she got her warrior's honor and foul mouth. She spent most of her childhood helping her family cause chaos and getting in fights. Those fights were more often than not against other giant pirates as humans didn't pose enough challenge. Valkyrie got her first sword when she was fifteen. It all started with a coin toss, as she couldn't decide between a sword and an axe. Over the years, flipping a coin developed into the constant habit it is today. At the age of 23, Valkyrie set out on her own adventure to see the world and improve her skills. During her travels, she kept relatively low profile and was regarded as a minor pirate. Her goal back then was self-improvement. Valkyrie sought for the world's greatest swordsmen. It led her to the country of Wano, well-known for its powerful samurai. She took deep liking to Wano Country, especially because of their culture and honor code of brave warriors. They brought back good memories of Elbaf. She spent next six years there, training with some of the world's greatest swordsmen and learning new techniques. During her stay she managed to get her hands on her current katana, Blood-soaked Serpent. Valkyrie started travelling again at the age of 31. Armed with a new blade and new skills, she quickly gained infamy and the nickname "Whirlwind Valkyrie". She absolutely loved it. However, after numerous violent and destructive clashes with Marine forces, she was offered a position as a Shichibukai when she was 33. Bored with all the interruptions on her adventure, Valkyrie accepted the offer without much negotiation. Shortly after becoming a Shichibukai, people started referring to her as the Greatest Swordsman in the World. Despite a certain inaccuracy, the title made Valkyrie feel herself even more famous, so she adopted it and started openly claiming to be the greatest in the world. So far, she has been able to defend the title. Now, she wanders around the world, seeking for storytellers and intimidating challengers who get in her way. It is said to be the largest katana in the world, with total length of 1250 centimeters. The hilt is black and features a silvery diamond pattern, while the guard resembles a cart wheel. It has a perfectly clean, steel blade. The sheath is blood red and has black rope wrapped around the upper part. As a legendary sword, it is incredibly sturdy and sharp, able to cut through stone and steel. Non-weapons Lucky Coin: A golden coin ten times larger than an average coin. It has a detailed crown on one side and a grinning skull on the other. Valkyrie keeps it as a lucky charm and uses it to make most of her decisions. Long-range Marine Den Den Mushi: This enormous white and blue Den Den Mushi would be far too big for a human to carry, but for a giant it's exactly the right size. Like the name and color scheme suggest, it is used by high-ranking Marines to reach her whenever they need to speak with her. However, others can also call her if they happen to know her number. As a part of the deal with Marines, it also acts as a tracker and keeps her location updated at all times. The lucky snail resides in Valkyrie's cleavage as her clothing doesn't have pockets. ABILITIES Whirlwind Cannon: Valkyrie fires a compressed blast of wind by suddenly thrusting her sword. The power and speed of the attack are similar to a cannonball. Upon impact, it explodes into tiny, chaotic whirlwinds that cut and toss aside anything caught in the blast. This move can be used with her sword sheathed or just with the sheath alone, in which case it loses all cutting power and becomes nonlethal, but remains still very painful. She can fire five shots before having to regain her breath and focus for two posts. Storm Guillotine: Valkyrie points her blade towards the sky and it shines briefly. She then brings it down in a powerful downward slash, much like a real guillotine blade. Anything she hits, including the ground beneath the blade, get split cleanly in half. The initial slash is followed by a storm of air blades that rain down near the impact area. They are the size of actual raindrops, cover an area of 30 feet around the blade and fall for two seconds. It takes two posts for her to regain her breath and focus to do it again. Volcano Splitter: Valkyrie initiates the move by stabbing her blade into the ground, releasing her grip and taunting or threatening the opponent. Once she thinks she has the opponent within range, she grabs the hilt and slashes upwards in a blink of an eye. It creates a powerful whirlwind that draws in everything within 30 feet radius from the blade and launches light objects high into the air. The immense friction also briefly coats her blade in orange flames and generates enough heat to burn anything that gets caught in the whirlwind. It takes three posts for her to regain her breath and focus to do it again. Reaper's Judgment - Tsunami Slash: Valkyrie starts by taking a steady stance and focusing on her target. The area around her becomes dark and an ominous figure with a scythe appears behind her. She swings her sword horizontally and the illusion mimics the motion. This releases two 60 feet wide flying slashes, one near ground level and the other at her chest level, and creates violent winds between them. As the attack travels, it takes the shape of a tidal wave and also moves at the speed of one. The wave sucks in anything it hits and shreds it apart with powerful wind blades. This move can be used with her sword sheathed or just with the sheath alone, in which case it loses all cutting power and becomes just a blunt force shockwave. Additionally, in the sheathed version, Valkyrie omits the Reaper part of the name, the illusion doesn't appear behind her and there is only one horizontal wind shot. It takes three posts for her to regain her breath and focus to do it again. Busoshoku Haki: An inner power that allows the user to create a force similar to an invisible armor around themselves. This technique can defend against attacks that would otherwise cause serious harm. It can also be used to augment the user's own attacks, projected ahead of the user as a pure brute force, or imbued in weapons to increase their effectiveness drastically. By channeling this haki into attacks, the user can even bypass protection granted by Devil Fruits and hurt the opponent directly. RACIAL FEATURES Immense Strength: Like all giants, Valkyrie is inherently strong and hardy, well beyond what humans can achieve. She can carry humans, crush buildings and split ships with ease. The strength combined with her size makes her unbelievably sturdy and allows her to survive massive amounts of punishment. For her, getting stabbed by a sword is the same as getting stung by a wasp is for humans.
